The name of the Association shall be the Gujarat Library Association (GLA) here in after referred to as the Association. Its registered office will be in Vallabh Vidhyanagar.
The Association, existing-to- develop high standards of librarianship and library and information services.

Its very disgusting to note the state of affairs of U.G.C. NET Qualified College librarians in Gujarat where Sh. Narinder Modi the Prime Ministerial Candidate of BJP is the Chief Minister. They have been Classified in Class III Posts & are being offered jobs on contractual basis for meager Rs. 10000/- less than what a daily wager can earn per month.Whereas the U.G.C. Regulations 2010 have placed the College Librarians posts in Grade “A” i.e. Class I equivalent to the Cadre of University and College Teachers. In Himachal Pradesh , College Librarians are having complete parity with their equivalent cadres. Will the Gujarat Govt. Chief Minister Hon’ble Sh. Modi Ji look into plight of Qualified College Librarians in their State.
